Dani Alves has revealed that there are no talks between him and Barcelona over a new contract.
The Brazilian right-back is, of course, a Barcelona legend. He was a big part of everything the Catalans achieved between 2008 and 2016, winning six La Liga titles, five Copa del Rey and three Champions League trophies. He eventually joined Juventus, and later he played for Paris Saint-Germain and Sao Paolo too. His contract with the latter expired in September last year, and he rejoined Barcelona as a free agent two months later for the rest of the season, with the revolution under his former teammate Xavi Hernandez underway.
With the end of the season approaching fast, questions about the 38-year-old s future are being asked again.

Porto hit the post and had a late Mehdi Taremi goal controversially ruled out as they played out a 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid in Wednesday s Champions League clash at Wanda Metropolitano.
Taremi pounced on some uncertain defending to score what looked like being a scrappy opener, only for a lengthy VAR check to disallow it out for a handball infringement.
The visitors went close earlier in the half through an Otavio cross that came back off the frame of the goal, prompting Diego Simeone to introduce Antoine Griezmann from the bench.
But despite having the likes of Griezmann, Luis Suarez and Angel Correa on the field, Atletico could not find a trademark late goal – even after a late Chancel Mbemba red card – as they kicked off their Group B campaign with a …
Gavi marked becoming Spain s youngest player at a major tournament with a goal in an emphatic 7-0 win over Costa Rica as La Roja began their Qatar 2022 campaign in record style.
Group E rivals Germany suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Japan earlier on Wednesday, but Spain did not look under any threat after Dani Olmo gave them an 11th-minute lead.
That was La Roja s 100th World Cup goal and another two followed inside the opening 31 minutes through Marco Asensio s strike and a Ferran Torres penalty.
Torres doubled his tally early in the second half and Gavi then steered in a delightful volley, before substitutes Carlos Soler and Alvaro Morata added two more late on in Spain s record win at the tournament.
Spain were well on top when Olmo controlled a deflected…

Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Alexander Sorloth from Villarreal in a deal reportedly worth €35million.
Sorloth joins Atleti on the back of scoring 26 goals in 41 games in all competitions in his only season at Villarreal.
A highlight of last term came in May, when he scored four goals in just 17 minutes in a 4-4 draw with Real Madrid.
Atleti were in the market for a striker after Alvaro Morata s move to Milan and following their release of Memphis Depay.
Sorloth, who has 53 caps for Norway, was second only to Artem Dovbyk when it came to LaLiga goals last season, netting 23 times in total.
Welcøme, Sørloth!

Ivan Perisic s double secured Coppa Italia glory for Inter as they came from 2-1 down to beat Juventus 4-2 after extra time at the Stadio Olimpico.
Nicolo Barella s sensational 10th-minute opener appeared to have put Inter on course to repeat their Supercoppa Italiana triumph over Juve in January.
But two goals in the space of just over two second-half minutes from Alex Sandro, aided by Alvaro Morata, and Dusan Vlahovic turned the tide in Juve s favour.
There was a twist in the tale late in normal time, though, Hakan Calhanoglu netting from the spot to send the game to an extra half-hour, in which Perisic also converted from 12 yards and then sealed victory with a fine half-volley. Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri was sent off for a touchline row with the Inter be…
Wilfried Nancy has called for cohesion and understanding from MLS decision-makers after the Columbus Crew were forced to play with midfielder Sean Zawadzki in goal in their 4-0 defeat to the Seattle Sounders.
Abraham Romero saw red at the end of the first half, and with both Patrick Schulte and Nicholas Hagen away on international duty, Zawadzki found himself wearing the gloves.
Romero was the Crew’s only goalkeeper in the matchday squad as players from Columbus’ reserve side can only be called up four times before signing a professional contract.
Nancy asked MLS to allow an additional call-up for a backup goalkeeper but that request was rejected, leaving the Crew head coach furious at the full-time whistle.
“We are at 39 matches played,” Nancy s…

The classic football management simulator is set for full release on November 19, but you can get early access to the beta version – which may contain bugs and issues developers Sports Interactive still need to fix – if you pre-purchase the game.
Therefore, it s time to start thinking about which club you might want to take the reins of. However, with playable leagues in over 50 countries, such a decision can often feel a little daunting.

Wales must navigate the play-offs in March to reach the European Championship finals next summer.
If they do so, it will be Wales’ fourth major tournament out of the last five.
Here, the PA news agency looks at their Euro 2024 story so far and what happens next.
How did Wales get here?
It has been a campaign of transition without talismanic captain Gareth Bale following his retirement in January and the loss of other key players such as midfielder Joe Allen.
Wales began well with a bonus point away to World Cup semi-finalists Croatia – courtesy of Nathan Broadhead’s stoppage-time equaliser – and a narrow home win over Latvia.
But a sour summer – back-to-beat defeats against Armenia and Turkey – would cost them dear, despite bouncing b…
Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has targeted a return from the cruciate ligament injury he suffered in February by the end of 2016.
The French international has been out of action since the beginning of the year, after being stretchered off in Chelsea s 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
I don t know when I ll be back out on the pitch but everything is going well, Zouma told The Sun.
I m kicking the ball around a bit – I m not in any pain and I feel good.
Zouma was initially expected to be a part of the France squad for Euro 2016 this summer; however the injury means the 21-year-old s next action will come back in a Chelsea shirt.
When asked about the possibility of him playing again this year, Zouma replied:
I hope so; I think I ve…
