Barca’s Afellay joins Olympiakos

Dutch midfielder Ibrahim Afellay has joined Greek giants Olympiakos, Barcelona have revealed on their official website.

The 28-year-old arrives in Athens on a season-long loan, while it is important to note that his deal at Camp Nou is due to expire at the end of the 2014/2015 campaign.

Afellay joined Barcelona from PSV Eindhoven in January 2011 as one of world s hottest prospects but a serious knee injury marred his career at Camp Nou.

As a result, the former Netherlands international only made 21 league appearances for the Catalans, whilst featuring in 10 Bundesliga games during the loan spell with Schalke.

Diego Costa should be given until the last minute to prove his fitness for Spain, goalkeeper David De Gea has claimed.

The Manchester United shot-stopper was included in Vicente del Bosque s provisional 30-man squad for the FIFA World Cup earlier this month.

The party must be cut to 23 by June 2 and Costa s race against time is the subject of much interest.

Deulofeu completes move back to Barcelona

Spain winger Gerard Deulofeu has completed his return to Barcelona from Everton.

The LaLiga giants exercised a buyback clause in the deal that saw the 23-year-old move to Goodison Park in 2015 two weeks ago after he impressed while on loan at AC Milan during the second half of last season.

Deulofeu, 23, completed his medical at Barcelona on Friday before signing a contract running until June 2019 at the club s offices.

Barca did not disclose the fee paid for Deulofeu, although it has been widely reported to be €12million.

Eiffel Tower responds to Ibrahimovic

If Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants a statue of himself to replace the Eiffel Tower to ensure he remains at Paris Saint-Germain, he should think again after the iconic French landmark cheekily responded on social media.
